Physical exercise benefits everyone of every age. It can ease the most common complaints that we suffer from backaches to depression.
Our bodies are constantly telling us when things are not right. We may be feeling fat and sluggish, or just plain weak, tired and depressed often with associated aches and pains.

Today, we are less active than our parents were and as a result
heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are at an all time high. With our age of technology we have created an epidemic of couch potatoes.
Our current sedentary lifestyles consists of sitting in front of a computer at a day job, and coming home to watch TV, play on the computer a little more before going to bed and then waking up to do the same thing all over again the next day, sound familiar?
If this describes your present lifestyle as far as physical exercise is concerned, then it's time to make some serious changes before something serious changes your life, seriously let's get moving !
It has become a big challenge to try and fit exercise into our busy, fast-paced lifestyles but no matter what our age there are little things we can do to improve our health and fitness.
When I was a child I played outside often, riding my bike, jumping rope with friends, playing tag, softball, tether ball, and many other very active sports. In early childhood exercise should be fun movement.
Our children today are more reclusive, spending countless hours watching tv or playing video games and not learning the value and importance of physical exercise benefits and its impact on their lives.
Here are some simple things you can do to start putting a little more activity into your day if you are too busy to exercise.
- When you shop don't park in the nearest spot force yourself to walk a little
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Go for an after dinner stroll instead of watching the evening news
- Fire your landscaper and mow your own lawn
- Skip the drive-thru car wash and wash it yourself
- Skip the drive-thru teller and walk into the bank
- If possible shop downtown where everything is within walking distance
- Plant a Garden
- Walk on your work breaks
- Get rid of your housekeeper and clean your own house
Just some ideas to get the ball rolling, but you get the picture. You don't have to rearrange a busy schedule to fit in these
simple activities.
