We’re already over a month into 2009 and it’s time to take control of your life. If you’re like most people you probably made a New Years resolution to live a healthier lifestyle. Unfortunately, it usually doesn’t workout as you dreamed it would. I wasn’t in your situation that long ago and I want to help you accomplish your goals.

In this article I chose a few of my
favorite exercise tips that will you get you in tip top shape. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been working out, these tips will help you get the results you’ve always wanted.
- Proper goal setting is the key to your success. There are plenty of people that write down goals but never get anywhere with them. Usually they are either too difficult or they aren’t very specific. It’s crucial that you make goals that are both specific in nature and have a deadline at the end. “Get in shape and look great by losing 20 pounds by May 1st” is a great goal to have.
- Weight training will burn just as many if not more calories then exercise. Most people think that you need to be on a treadmill all day to lose weight. A new study shows that 30 minutes of weight training is equal to 30 minutes of running on a treadmill.
- Don’t forget to drink those 4 glasses of water each day. Okay, the number varies on how much water you need to drink. A lot of experts say that you can get enough water just from the food you eat. I think drinking water is important because it also puts you in the habit of getting rid of soda and other un-healthy beverages. You’ll realize that water is a great source of energy and you’ll feel more energized in your life.
- The last tip is to keep both an exercise and food journal. An exercise journal is important because you can keep track of your progress. If you can’t remember what you did and for how long the last time you worked out, you won’t be able to continually progress. A food journal is important because it helps you keep track of the amount of calories you eat throughout the day. This will help you realize how much healthy and un-healthy food you eat throughout the day too.
