Guys, listen, there is no such a thing as developing muscles on your body, or getting a flat stomach for 1 month or even for 6 months when you have a
high percentage fat in your body. All these commercials you see on the internet or on the TV are created by people who want to sell you something so that they get profit from it, no matter that what they sell is not effective.
It is extremely important that you understand that nobody can help you but you. There is no chance that you can achieve a well built body if you have a
high percentage of subcutaneous fat. That is why you need to do cardio workouts all the time.
Neglecting cardio training at the expense of the power exercises won’t get you far. You need to combine them in order to achieve successful results. If you have already decided that you would just go to the gym and not be involved in any other aerobic activities, then you have to separate a big amount of time to run on the treadmill. All the treadmill, bike, stepper and elliptical workouts are the ones that are of biggest importance. Not only cardio workouts reduce the percentage of subcutaneous fat in your body, but they also improve your blood circulation, normalize your heart activity and reduce stress.
If you are in a really bad shape at the moment but you wish that you lose fat, you have to start with long cardio exercises on a low-intensity level, such as slow walking on the treadmill. If you are in good shape then you have to do intensive cardio workouts, such as running faster and longer on the treadmill, biking faster on the bike/spinning bike, or making more rapid rotation on the elliptical. These cardio workouts should be 4 to 6 times a week from 30 to 50 minutes (for beginners). You do not have to just run for 45 minutes, but you can mix them up. For example, you can go for 15 min on the treadmill, then for another 15 minutes on the bike, and finish up the elliptical workout. If you do less cardio workout than the recommended one you will not see any effect. However, if you do much more than you should then you are in danger of losing any muscle mass you already have.
Some people think that if they run for about 1h 30 min every day, and that is all they do, they will
lose a lot of weight. From one side this is correct, but from the other side they will not only lose weight but muscles as well. If you lose a big percentage of muscles, what happens is that your body gets more vulnerable to gain fat. I know it can sound ridiculous but this is true. That is why it is very important that we always combine cardio and
weight lifting workouts.
